My name is Amanda Morrison. I am a journalistic based photographer, who is excited by the stories that everyone around the world has to share. I originally got involved in journalism because I wanted to couple the visual art of photography with the artful skill of writing. Because of this, I was involved in several news writing classes so that I may be able to be a reporter as well.
I graduated from the excellent photojournalism program at the Rochester Institute of Technology in May of 2008. I have a BFA in Photojournalism, with a minor in American History and a Concentration in Communications. I have also interned at the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle and was the staff videographer at Camp Arnes.
I am currently working at an after-school program, teen center, and at a residential facility for at-risk youth. Additionally, I am getting a MS Ed in Organizational Leadership. I hope to be able to use my technological training as a director of a residence hall or camp.
I also offer my services as a Wedding Photographer/Videographer, Location Portrait Photographer, Event Photographer/Videographer, Freelance Journalist (in all media), and Sports Journalist (in all media). If you want more information about these services please contact me with an email.
Photography is not my only passion in life. I also really enjoy working with teens and youth, a desire that is shown in my volunteerism at local teen centers and events. Furthermore, I am a devoted drummer who has been involved in several traveling worship bands that have been around the Eastern USA.
